Campervans can be describes simply as a vehicle that not only provides for traveling, but it can provide accommodations for sleeping; so really, you get the best of both worlds with a campervan, traveling by day and sleeping by night, or whichever arrangement suits you. Campervans have a variety of different names such as motor-home, motor-caravan, caravanette or just simply, camper. These nifty little vehicles are great when it comes to traveling long distances because if one becomes tired of driving then you can just park it and catch some sleep. Once you arrive at the destination you were traveling too, then you do not even need a hotel room because you can just sleep in the campervan.
Sometimes these campervans will be referred to as RVs or Recreational Vehicles; that is what campervans are referred to as more popularly in the United States. It also seems as though the United States is usually home to much larger campervans than that of those in Europe and other countries. The largest campervans tend to look more like an actual bus because of its sheer size and accommodation capacities. Smaller campervans are usually meant to hold anywhere from one to four people comfortably, although there are many campervans that can hold many more than that comfortably.
Campervans can be signified over other vehicles simply by the coach-built body that sits awkwardly as part of the camper's body. Most campervans are either outfitted with a fixed roof or a roof that essentially pops out when accommodations need to be made. Campervans with a fixed roof will usually be much larger than traditional vans, sometimes being referred to as "high top" vans because the height of the roof. These campervans have to be larger since they have to provide sleeping accommodations as well as having a fixed roof that does not fold down or pop up.
If you look in any hotel room, you will find a bed or two, a refrigerator, a microwave, a toilet and a shower; all the basic amenities one needs to have a nice stay. Well if you look inside of most major campervans, you will find the exact same things except for maybe a shower. However, a lot of campervans do come with an external shower that can be hooked up, allowing persons to shower conveniently and safely within the protection of an awning; larger models may even have an internal shower. Campervans also usually have a small refrigerator and either a microwave or a grill in which to keep the food safe and have a place to cook it too. Depending on the size of the campervan, it could end up having more features than that of an average hotel room.
